On a Saturday morning, a gunman entered the store, held six women captive, and opened fire, killing five. Nearly two decades later, the case still remains unsolved.
In the hours after the attack, police gathered thousands of tips, released a composite sketch, and pursued multiple leads. But despite a surviving witness, possible DNA evidence, and national attention, no suspect has ever been identified. Investigators initially believed the crime was a robbery, yet the suspect took almost nothing raising early questions about the motive.
Over the years, theories have shifted. Was this a targeted attack? A random act of violence? Or something more calculated that investigators failed to connect?
