CounterClock Season 8 reinvestigates the 2008 Lane Bryant murders in Tinley Park, Illinois- one of the most brutal unsolved mass killings in modern U.S. history. On a Saturday morning, a gunman entered the store, held six women captive, and opened fire, killing five. Nearly two decades later, the case still remains unsolved.

In the hours after the attack, police gathered thousands of tips, released a composite sketch, and pursued multiple leads. But despite a surviving witness, possible DNA evidence, and national attention, no suspect has ever been identified. Investigators initially believed the crime was a robbery, yet the suspect took almost nothing raising early questions about the motive.

Over the years, theories have shifted. Was this a targeted attack? A random act of violence? Or something more calculated that investigators failed to connect?

Investigative journalist Delia D’Ambra reexamines the case from the ground up, speaking with witnesses, law enforcement, and those closest to the victims. As new details emerge and overlooked leads resurface, one question remains: who was responsible for the Lane Bryant murders and why hasn’t anyone been caught?

This is Counterclock.
